World Turtle Day 2015

Yesterday, on May 22, 2015, we celebrated World Turtle Day. Unlike Save The Frogs!, this was a small event involving the members of Team My Little Python.

We had many presentations, from short texts to Powerpoint presentations on a laptop!

Overall, we had a good event! (Most of the time afterwards was spent running around the yard.)

My Little Python:Stripie Meets a Turtle

This special comic is brought to you by World Turtle Week, which we are at the beginning of right now!

Hello, Mr. Turtle.

Hello, Stripie Snakie.

So, in celebration of World Turtle Week, I'm here to ask you some questions.

Okay. What are the questions?

First of all, are you a ninja?

No! You've been watching way too much Snakeolodeon, Stripie!

Oh. Then do you eat pizza?

Not at all. Most of us turtles and tortoises eat plants and some animal matter, but definitely not pizza.

Okay. Do you live in the sewers?

No. That's actually somewhat insulting. Most water turtles live in ponds or lakes, but box turtles and tortoises live on land.

So what kind of turtle are you?

I'm an eastern box turtle.

So, what are you like?

Oh, okay! You see, I'm a turtle, not a tortoise even though I don't have the feet for swimming. Most of my relatives live in the eastern United States.

Okay! What do you eat?

In the wild, we Eastern Box Turtles will eat just about anything, ranging from worms and bugs to plants.

Interesting. So, what do people call you?

My friends call me an Eastern Box Turtle but my coworkers call me Terrapene carolina carolina.

Are you famous?

Sort of. I'm the state reptile of Tennessee and North Carolina plus I'm extremely protected in Tennessee. Anyway, I must be going now so good day to you, Stripie Snakie and goodbye!

My Little Python:Shadow Animations

Enjoy! You can use these as long as you link them back to our blog, Facebook, or Twitter links. (We would do one for Caramel Apple, but you can't do a green snake on green ground very well.)

My Little Python:The new fictional ambassadors

Our new fictional ambassadors who are copyright Neopets 1999-2015, Hisstante (with Stripie), Hissfunctional (with Caramel Apple), Hisstress (with Sweet Grapevine), and Hisstanya (with Tangerinei). Obviously both python and Hissi don't quite know what to make of their counterparts.

Stripie Snakie fact:No reptiles have wings, but some species can glide from treetop to treetop! Awesome!

WE CELEBRATE WITH OUR BIG PYTHON AND ANACONDA FRIENDS! Due to a court case being won in support of USARK, they should now be able to move with their owners or visit the doctor, even if it's over state lines!

My Little Python:Poisonous

Stripie Snakie Fact:Some snakes are actually both poisonous and venomous, like the keelback snakes that are native to Australasia! Isn't that cool?
